Which kind of products are suitable for China Manufacturing?
We use 4 criteria:
Quantity: volume is king in China, and lot size is the first thing we will need to know. In general outsourcing makes only sense when the order size is at least a container, order amount at least US$5,000, below that transport and management overheads are too high.

Labor Intensity: the more labor involved in assembling and packaging the product the more money we can save you.

Electronic components: 70% of the world’s electronics are now made in Asia, due to its extremely rich cluster of suppliers of electronic components. If your product currently is built with lots of branded western components we can save you a lot of money using local equivalents.

Tooling intensity: we can save you a significant amount of money on tooling, so if tooling amortization is high because you make only 1500 units a year you should talk to us.

Will manufacturing in China save me money?
We always advise our client to analyze the Total Cost of production, being unit costs, management costs, cost of delayed shipments, cost of non-conforming units etc.

Some people delude themselves thinking that they are saving 50% buying in China, forgetting to account the cost and time they incur invest every time they have fly over to sort out some problem.

In general the quantity / dollar value has to be high enough to make it worth the extra management time and attention that is invariably required.

Is it possible to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement with GEO?
Yes, protection of the confidentiality of your project is very important to us. With most clients we sign an NDA prior to receiving any confidential information.

Please click here to download a copy of our standard NDA.

Please fill out your information and sign, then fax it to us at +86 21 6140 9706. We will counter sign and fax back as soon as possible.

How good is the quality?
Quality depends on customer requirements and price points, but we have parts in production for the oil and gas, automotive, health & fitness, office seating, marine, and airline industries. Our inspection reports are tailored to the product and often include testing such as salt spray, pull tests, material certification, etc.

What are typical lead times?
General lead time for tooling is 40 days. Stamping projects are usually a little quicker, and plastic injections projects can be a little slower if we have a lot of core pulls or DME parts. We make tools for local production and for export. Quantity production is generally within 30 days of tooling completion.

How do payments work?
To keep costs low, we do not factor any financing into the cost of our products. Tooling fee payment terms are 50% upon order placement and the balance due upon part approval. Production payment terms are 50% deposit and the balance when we email an inspection report with photos of the shipment ready to go. Goods do not leave China until payment has been made to our International bank account.

How do deliveries work?
We sell most often on FOB Shanghai terms. We have the ability to ship from China to your dock, and clear Customs, but in general it makes more sense for the customers to work with a local forwarder to keep their costs lower and maximize cash flow.

Do you carry inventory with multiple drawdowns?
We do not carry inventory, except as needed for ongoing production, or unless customer buys it in advance. Most of our customers ship in large shipments, and do partial shipments to their customers in their country.

Can you do plating?
We do all kinds of plating. Common are zinc, nickel, chrome, copper, and brass. We can also handle teflon and cadmium plating.

Do you work with plastic injection?
We do a great deal of plastic injection molding, both for domestic use and for export.

Do you have sales reps in our country?
We have partner worldwide where is located in Japan, German and Netherland. We are endlessly looking for global partners in different countries.
